Fine fireclay is the foundation of Gamond’s ceramic sanitaryware — a material prized for its density, smoothness, and resistance to thermal shock. But what sets our ceramics apart is the precision engineering behind every stage of production.

The process begins with carefully selected kaolin and feldspar blends, mixed to exact ratios that determine the final strength and whiteness of each piece. Moulds are cast under vacuum pressure to eliminate air pockets, ensuring uniform wall thickness across complex geometries like rimless toilet bowls and organic basin forms.

Firing takes place in computer-controlled tunnel kilns at temperatures exceeding 1,200°C. This high-temperature vitrification fuses the clay body into a glass-like, non-porous surface that actively repels water, dirt, and bacteria — reducing the need for harsh cleaning chemicals in daily use.

Every batch undergoes rigorous quality testing: dimensional accuracy checks, glaze adhesion tests, and water absorption measurements that must meet or exceed European EN standards. The result is sanitaryware that maintains its lustre and structural integrity for decades, even in high-traffic commercial environments.
